yesterday i rope soloed!!! i forgot the ipod (phone actually) at the campsite so i couldn't completely rock out but i got super close. it was so very freeing to have the whole canyon to myself, climb trad cracks, AND be roped in. rope soloing is truly an art. an art i have yet to master. feeding yourself slack while you climb is super tricky. took a test fall, and , well, the thang works. its a serious head game and i couldn't get myself to lead any more than 5.9. i'd like you, my lovely readers, to know that the name of my very first rope solo was "vegetarian delight"
today i got new front tires from one of the sweetest old dudes evah. he wasn't even actually working. he just happened to be stopping by his shop when i came through and agreed open shop for a bit. life is good. just made some friends and am thinking about taking the day off to go for a run and then dip in the hotsprings.
