barn bluffs

today i climbed at the barn bluffs with a new friend. now for this next statement i need a drumroll. pppdddddppppddddppppdddd rat a tat tat!
i climbed a bolted crack AND I LIKED IT! i am also vehemently against it, but i did have a lot of fun and i'm done pretending that it is only repulsive. its repulsive and fun. like pixi stix, you know, the colored sugar in a tube.

o, and i cracked my helmet, which i am mighty proud of. strange.

i noticed how much more difficult it is to be adventurous in an area that feels like home. it took me much longer to hook up with climbing partners and venture out into the crags in lovely minnesota. i could (and actually was) making up all kinds of easy excuses. <1> its a big city, takes longer to meet people <2> i've got family and friends here and therefore have other awesomeness on my agenda <3> the climbing is less inspiring than, well, everywhere else.
here is what it comes down to in the end; it is easy to forget to find adventure in a place where you are 'at home'. adventure is everywhere dear readers. and i solemnly vow to find it.
